Potatoes in China

To begin, China is the biggest potato producer in the world. It's generating more than 22 percent of global spud production. Its cultivation takes place in all regions of China, but it is predominantly grown in the northern and southern regions of this country.

Following the Great Chinese Famine, spud production had been on the rise during the 1960s and early 1970s.  Since then, they became an integral part of the Chinese diet, especially in rural  parts. They are being used to  make french fries and potato crisps.

In China, spuds have helped to reduce poverty and assure food security. The planted area of potatoes have grew because of these benefits for Chinese people. There are also great economic returns of selling potatoes.

This vegetable is used to treat abdominal pain, insects bites, burns, wounds, stomach illness and throat and mouth infection in China. This wonderful vegetable can also  improve immunity.

India, Russia, Ukraine, United States and even Germany are also big potato  producers. To conclude, spud production is generating a lot of jobs and great economic returns.
