The Bintje spud comes from Netherlands, where it is appreciated for making French fries. It crashes easily, so it is well adapted to do mash potatoes. Its flesh is floury. It is the potato used for the famous Belgian fries. The Nicola potato is from Germany, but is also cultivated in Austria, Spain, France and Luxembourg.
